Mathematics – 0580 & 0980 IGCSE (CIE) Past Papers
The following past papers are for IGCSE Math 0580 and IGCSE Mathematics (9-1) 0980. Both courses have the same course content and CIE exam papers – they only differ in terms of their grading structure, so make sure you check out all the papers below for perfect revision.
IGCSE Maths 0580 uses a letter-based grading scale between A* to G. The exams are held three times a year: March, June and November, with both core and extended syllabus.

About IGCSE Maths 0580 Syllabus
The Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics 0580 syllabus is designed to build a strong foundation in mathematical concepts and develop essential skills in problem-solving, reasoning, and numerical analysis. Suitable for students aged 14–16, this course prepares learners for real-world applications, further study in mathematics, and success in academic exams.
The syllabus is divided into the following core areas:
- Number – integers, decimals, percentages, ratios, rates, powers, and standard form
- Algebra – expressions, equations, sequences, graphs, and problem-solving
- Geometry – angles, shapes, symmetry, transformations, mensuration, and coordinate geometry
- Trigonometry – sine, cosine, tangent, and real-world applications
- Statistics – data collection, representation, averages, and probability
- Vectors and Matrices – vector operations and basic matrix handling (Extended only)
Students can choose from two levels: the Core curriculum (grades C–G) or the Extended curriculum (grades A*–C). Each curriculum has a unique assessment route:
- Paper 1 – Short-answer questions (Core)
- Paper 2 – Short-answer questions (Extended)
- Paper 3 – Structured questions (Core)
- Paper 4 – Structured questions (Extended)
Both papers in each route are calculator-allowed and are designed to test conceptual understanding, fluency, and methodical thinking.
